La Defense is this office-park type area of Paris, a few miles due west of the Arc de Triomphe, right on line with the Champs Elysees and the Louvre. CNIT is the curvy building on the right; it was the site of the WWW'96 conference. The big square thing is the Grande Arch de la Defense. One can go up inside it, but we didn't.
