Apparently the fountains at Versaille do not run every day; or perhaps it was just that they are not turned on all day. In any case, we were lucky to be able to see them. Here's one; I believe this is "fountain number 1", the one just down the main stairs into the garden from the upper terrace, and the one that the herds crowd around for the start of the fountain show. In the background you can see the herds making their way to different areas of the (enormous) grounds for other fountains.
